Bristol Aggie to Honor the School Lunch Heroes Serving Healthy Meals

Celebrating School Lunch Hero Day on May 7, 2021

Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, Bristol Aggie nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, Bristol Aggie will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on May 7.   School Lunch Hero Day provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to nearly 30 million of America’s students each school day.

All across the school, school nutrition professionals will be honored and recognized from students, school staff, parents, and the community.

School nutrition employees must balance many roles and follow numerous federal, state and local regulations to ensure safe and healthy meals are available in schools. School Lunch Hero Day provides the opportunity for the community to thank these hardworking heroes. Federal nutrition standards ensure that school cafeterias always offer low-fat or fat-free milk, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein.  School meals also meet limits on calories, sodium and unhealthy fats.

The importance and nutritional value of school meals are well documented. For many children, school lunch is the most important and nutrient-rich meal of their day.

Arbor Jamboree: Each year the Arbor program hosts a competition for the Arbor students.  There are several events such as the speed climb, event course, and many more.  It’s a great opportunity for our students to showcase their skills.

Ag Mechanics: The sophomores are working on the 3-cylinder diesel engines the freshman are organizing tools.

Animal Science: On Thursday, Nurse Anderson took a stroll down to the Lamb Barn.  Here is her experience:

“Spring time! A time when new life arrives and a start to new beginnings! It was brought to my attention that there was new life on campus, so naturally I had to check it out. I took a moment at the end of the school day to walk down to the lambing barn and to my delight I set eyes on the two most beautiful lambs. Of course it was love at first sight! The two beautiful lambs were born 4/5/21 happy, healthy and already making their presence known. As I watched them for a few minutes hop around their mum in such excitement, I realized that every day is a gift and we should treat each other with kindness. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed investigating the new additions to Bristol Aggie.”

Post-Secondary Plans

We are proud to share our seniors’ plans for their next adventure. Based on the knowledge and skills learned during their 4 years at BA, we are excited to publish college and universities acceptances, military enrollment and career pathways.

Thank you for your dedication to maintain Bristol Aggie Excellence.

Bolded text is a confirmed plan for after graduation.

Student Services

May is Mental Health Awareness month. We know and can all relate to the fact that this past year has been challenging for all. In an effort to help raise awareness for mental health and to help our Aggie community, we wanted to share with you some helpful tips from calm.com each week this month to improve your self-care to help improve your emotional and mental well-being.

  • Take a break and go for a walk. Even if it’s just around the block. Movement affects our mood.

  • Recharge your batteries by taking a nap or going to bed early or on time.

  • Reach out to someone who means a lot to you. Connecting with loved ones is good for your health.

  • Use the breath to create space in your mind and body, especially if you’re in a stressful situation.

  • Say NO to something as a way to honor your needs. Resist the need to justify, explain or defend.
