Aggie Weekly-January 17th

Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:

Our students completed their midterm assessments this week and Quarter 2 officially closed today. Grades will be available on the PowerSchool portal on Friday, January 24th. We are officially 50% complete with the 2019-2020 school year. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations! Today, seniors Jake Santos and Nate Silvia signed their letters of intent to play baseball next year at SUNY Cobleskill. Congratulations!

Next Phase for Seniors: We are proud to share with you our senior’s plans for their next step in their college and career exploration. Based on the knowledge and skills learned during their 4 years at BA, we are excited to publish acceptances into colleges, universities, military plans, and any career pathways each week. Please let Ms. Dias or Ms. Costa know in Student Services, so we can update our list weekly. Thank you for your dedication to excellence and drive to maintain Bristol Aggie Excellence.

We wanted to create an online Student Job posting to help you get started. Please click the link(s) below to view the job posting(s).
In the Classroom:
  • Ag Mechanics: On Tuesday, our welders (MAS) from across the street visited Ag Mech. One employee Johnna who graduated from @TriCountyRVTSD spoke to our students about her experience. Lucky to have this opportunity for our students. #VocEd #BAPRIDE #Community

  • Ag Mechanics: Jordan Place and Riley Mydlack made a beautiful oak frame to finish off one of Ag Mechanics plasma table designs. It is now hung on display in Standish House. Great Job girls!! #BAPRIDE

FFA:
It is that time of year again! State Convention is around the corner. The sign up sheets for Career and Leadership Development Events are posted! Visit our website for State Convention paperwork and information!

Leadership Camp:
Bristol FFA students participated in the Massachusetts Winter Leadership Camp last weekend! The conference was held in North Oxford and the weather was kind! They started the state Associations goal of delivering 1,000 service hours across the state before the State FFA Convention in March.

In the Cafeteria………………………
Did you know that playing a variety of games can promote mental agility and help your brain develop new pathways and thought channels? Games are enjoyable, intellectually stimulating and socially engaging-and that’s all good for you.

Check out our new “Feed Your Brain” activity center in the cafeteria. Puzzles, Crayons, Brain Teasers, Playdough, Sudoku, Crossword puzzles and more...

Activities and Athletics:
  • Boys Basketball: The boys basketball team played on Tuesday against Falmouth Academy and got the WIN! Nice work boys! Photo credit Mr. Clapp.

MSBA Project Update: The steel construction has continued and B building of the CSE is nearly completed. Work on Building A of CSE will be starting next week. Work on the concrete foundations at the Student Commons continued. Work on a future parking lot on the south campus behind the Pole Barn started. During construction this will be used for contractors, then it will become a student parking lot post construction.
