Aggie Weekly- February 28th

Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:
This week our school community was involved in the MSBA building project. On Tuesday, each student and staff member was able to sign the last beam put into place at the Center for Science and the Environment. On Friday, we hosted alumni, dignitaries, Board of Trustees, County Commissioners, and our construction crews on sight to witness the last beam put into place, which is known as a Beam Raising ceremony. Please see below for more details.

Beam Signing/Raising: We cannot believe the progress being made on the construction of our new Center for Science and Environment buildings! It seems every time we come back from a break the work that is completed makes the process all the more realistic! County Commissioner John Mitchell, Superintendent Sands, and Mr. Jack McCarthy from the MSBA provided remarks to the school community on Friday to sign the last beam that will be placed on the building. We continued to be grateful for the amount of support we receive from our local communities.

Next Phase for Seniors: We are proud to share with you our senior’s plans for their next step in their college and career exploration. Based on the knowledge and skills learned during their 4 years at BA, we are excited to publish acceptances into colleges, universities, military plans, and any career pathways each week. Please let Ms. Dias or Ms. Costa know in Student Services, so we can update our list weekly. Thank you for your dedication to excellence and drive to maintain Bristol Aggie Excellence.

We wanted to create an online Student Job posting to help you get started. Please click the link(s) below to view the job posting(s).

Attention Drivers:

From the Nurse’s Office:

The precautions to help prevent colds and the flu can help protect against Corona Virus known as COVID-19.

Department of Public Health recommends that schools continue education about good hygiene. Students, staff, and volunteers should be reminded to:
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, if unable to wash, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Cover your coughs or sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve (not with your hands)
Stay away from people who are sick and stay home when you are sick

From the Cafeteria……………………………………

What a week in the cafeteria!! As we continue our vision of growing and harvesting our own food, as well as sourcing sustainable farming and fishing, Aggie students were offered fish tacos at lunch today. The fresh Pollock was delivered from fisherman William McCann and caught off the coast of New Bedford, MA.

Go Green Smoothies! We just harvested spinach from our Four Tier Grow System in the cafeteria and treated the students to an organic smoothie made with spinach, bananas and pineapple!

We also created an amazing spinach frittata with our own spinach.

If that’s not enough…………………….

The Tiny Tim Tomato plants will be ready to harvest soon!
