Aggie Weekly-May 3rd

Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:
This week our Arbor students were busy with Arbor Day and Arbor Jamboree! We have a lot of great pictures of them in action below and on our Twitter!  We wanted to remind all students attending prom next week that in order to leave early on Friday, May 10th, a note must be submitted to the office no later than Thursday, May 9th.  Students must be in school until 12:00 pm on Friday in order to attend prom. Any questions please contact the main office.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Make sure you share your appreciation with our wonderful staff!

Next Phase for Seniors: We are proud to share with you our senior’s plans for their next step in their college and career exploration. Based on the knowledge and skills, learned during their 4 years at BA, we are excited to publish acceptances into colleges, universities, military plans, and any career pathways each week. Please let Ms. Dias know in Student Services, so we can update our list weekly. Thank you for your dedication to excellence and drive to maintain Bristol Aggie Excellence.

Arbor Day: In celebration of Arbor Day the Arbor department hosted a work party for all of the students in our major. Students were exposed to what a day in the life of a production arborist would look like. Students were paired with students from other grade levels. Some students planted trees on campus. Others climbed and pruned trees and some felled trees and removed the debris utilizing equipment prevalent in the industry. We are very grateful for all of our sponsors who made this possible. Vermeer Northeast, National Grid, and Shelter graciously helped make this happen.

Arbor Jamboree: Each year Arbor students conduct a skills competition knows as Arbor Jamboree. Our kids consistently demonstrate their ability to achieve at high levels (pun intendend).

Hardscape CDE: Last Thursday, five Junior Landscape students participated in the Hardscape CDE at Upper Cape. The team of Rachel Bass, Noah DeTerra, Janayah King, and Kaylanii Rodrigues were awarded Silver; Kaylanii also received an individual Silver. Special recognition goes out to Eileen Baraket for stepping out of her comfort zone and being part of a team of students from three different schools.

Small Animal Science: Freshmen are finding their way here in Small, learning proper handling, restraint, and husbandry of our pocket pets.

Drill Team: The Equine Drill Team has been working very hard preparing for their performances on Field Day!

Health Class: Ms. Lindrooth’s health classes have been busy becoming CPR certified!

FFA Horse Showmanship: Our students performed well at the FFA Showmanship.  Go Bristol! #BAPRIDE

Student Assembly: This week our student assembly was postponed until Thursday, May 16th at 8:15.

Mr. Herren

MIAA Student Ambassadors:
Today our MIAA Student Ambassadors and selected student athletes attended the 2019 MIAA Community Service Showcase. Schools presented community service projects from the past year and presented them. Here the student athletes were able to walk around and take notes and ask questions on projects that stood out to them. Our students made an action plan to implement a new community service event at our school. Keep your eye out for more information on that!
