Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:
We hope everyone has a safe and HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Please be safe and we look forward to seeing you next week.
MA Holiday Travel Guidance: As we enter the Thanksgiving holiday, please ensure that you stay in compliance with the updated MA travel guidelines for your reference.
Updated COVID Flowchart: The Department of Public Health issued updated quarantine guidance for those who have been exposed to COVID-19. This update permits individuals to leave quarantine earlier if they meet specific conditions. An updated Protocols for Responding to COVID-19 Scenarios document will be posted here, and the full DPH guidance can be found here:
In this new guidance, a close contact must remain quarantined for:
At least 14 days from the date of last exposure; or
At least 10 days, provided all of the following are satisfied:
You have not had, and do not have, any symptoms;
You are tested on day 8 of your quarantine period or later using a molecular diagnostic test (e.g., polymerase chain reaction (PCR)) to detect the presence of the virus;
You receive a negative test result; and
You monitor yourself for symptoms for the full 14 days. If you develop symptoms, you should contact your health care provider and be re-tested.
Also, a reminder: Please remember that if a student or staff member tests positive, only close contacts should quarantine. Other students and educators in the classroom should not be instructed to quarantine unless they are confirmed close contacts. A close contact is defined as only those who have been within 6 feet of distance of the individual for at least 15 minutes while the person was infectious. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s updated “Protocols for responding to COVID-19 scenarios in school, on the bus, or in community settings” guidance will be posted here.
UPDATE- New Crosswalk: Starting on Thursday, December 3rd (after Thanksgiving holiday), students will be crossing the street at the new crosswalk across from CSE buildings, which will replace the existing crosswalk closer to Keith Hall. The current crosswalk will be removed on Friday, November 27th. We will have a police detail on site to assist with students/staff crossing the street. This is updated from the previous message sent last week.

Juniors and Sophomore Students - PSAT/NMSQT
We will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT to sophomore and junior students who are interested on Tuesday, January 26 during the morning hours. This is an opportunity to prepare students for taking a future SAT test which may be required for admissions to some colleges/universities. For those students who may have already taken it last year - they are not required to take it again but they may do so if they would like. Only Junior students taking the test will be entered into the National Merit Scholarship competition -you can find more information here.
While we are unsure of how things will progress during the school year and with COVID developments - we are still aiming to host it and would like for those to sign up using the Google Form linked below. Your student may have already signed up to take it so please check with your student first. The cost for the PSAT/NMSQT is $17 dollars and we would prefer cash payment delivered to Mrs. Dias in Student Services by Friday, December 4th to reserve a spot.
Some quick info about the PSAT/NMSQT:
In the Classroom:

He proudly holds a photo of his grandfather John “Jack” Thornhill, a member of the class of 1955. In the background is a photo of his great Uncle Doug Thornhill, a member of the class of 1958. Brian beamed delight upon viewing these photos of his relatives; he proudly carries on the Bristol Aggie legacy!
Animal Science & Library Media
Mrs. Noel and Mrs. Moriarty recently participated in a author webinar/crowdcast for the brand new book, Big Kibble. The book by Shawn Buckley and Dr. Oscar Chavez researches the dog food business and discusses safer, more nutritious ways to feed your pet. The publishers sent Mrs. Noel a free advanced copy when she shared that our school delves into this topic in our curriculum. We love opportunities such as this.
Pictured above are Mrs. Moriarty with animal science students Valerie and Destiney, Mr. Surdi’s dog, Biscuit, and Mrs. Noel.
