Dean College: Colleen and Anthony who are seniors attended a presentation sponsored by Dean College at Gillette Stadium. Dean College invited students interested in Arts and Entertainment Management, Athletic Coaching and Recreation Management, Communications, Exercise Science, Marketing, Sport Management or Sports Broadcasting. Both students are interested in majoring in Exercise Science and were able to hear from the representative for that program and speak to some athletic coaches as well as the Dean College Athletic Director. Now that they have heard from the college representatives themselves both students have decided to submit applications to Dean! #BAPride
Memo from Ms. Sylvia regarding Halloween
October 25, 2022
Dear Parents or Guardians,
I have received a lot of questions from students about Halloween costumes for Monday, October 31st.
For those students who would like to dress up on Halloween at school, they are more than welcomed to, as long as they follow the guidelines listed below. Students may opt to wear Halloween costumes to school on October 31st ONLY.
Regular school rules regarding the dress code must be followed.
No item of clothing may be worn and no prop may be brought to school if it does any of the following:
may be construed as demeaning to any person or groups based on age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or to any individual staff or student at the school;
contains discriminatory, profane, vulgar, sexually suggestive, obscene, threatening, or libelous language;
advertises/promotes consumption of alcohol, tobacco, drugs/drug paraphernalia, or use of weapons;
represents or is associated with gang membership;
causes a significant disruption or distraction to the school program
Additionally, for Halloween
Masks may not completely obscure the identity of the student.
Clothing or costumes displaying language or symbols of an offensive nature including that display political viewpoints or affiliations, sexist, obscene, sexually suggestive, violent expressions or images (including those connected to entertainment) are not permitted.
Costumes may NOT include props such as real, replica, or fake guns/ knives/other weapons/dangerous objects, or any item that is not allowed on campus.
No costume can be worn that is unsafe or that may create a safety hazard.
Costumes should not include items with sound effects, lights or other components which would disrupt the classroom learning environment.
If you have any further questions please reach out to me by email at BSylvia@bcahs.com.
Sincerely
Beth Sylvia

Weather Changes:
Sporadic weather changes happen frequently in New England. It is important for us to be mindful of articles of clothing we may need during the school day. Take note of the weather and changes in weather the night before school. The following are examples of what you may want to pack in a travel bag:
T-shirts/long sleeve shirts
Sweatshirt/ lightweight jackets
A few extra pairs of socks (thick socks for boots)
Extra footwear such as boots, sneakers or shoes to change into
Gloves/hats/scarfs (cold days and winter months)
Take note of the climate, temperature and possible precipitation that may occur during school and for after school activities. You may store extra clothing in your locker.
