While the state of Texas continues to clean up after Hurricane Harvey the east coast is preparing for Hurricane Irma, which is the largest hurricane ever recorded in the coming days.
Bristol Aggie has always stepped up and helped community members who are in need. Now is our chance to make a difference on a national level. The Animal Science Department will be teaming up with Operation Bullpen (with Curt Schilling) to help people in need. We will be establishing a donation center and are looking for donations of animal feed and supplies to be delivered to Texas, Florida, or any other areas that have animals in need from these devastating hurricanes. Next week we will be collecting bags and cases of animal feed, new and gently used supplies that can assist in rescue efforts. Although our first priority will be to collect animal supplies we will also be taking supplies for people as well. Requested items include warm weather clothes, food, diapers, wipes, formula, etc. A complete list is listed below.
OUR GOAL: We would like to fill an 18 wheeler truck full of supplies to help the people in need. These supplies will be driven down to hurricane devastated areas and put directly in the hands of people and shelters that need them. Our first truck will be leaving campus on Monday, September 18th. We have access to as many trucks as we can fill. We are hoping to make this a large scale effort in a short amount of time, please help us by donating and spreading the word!
