Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:
In our second week back, our students and staff appeared to be in midseason form. Students were actively engaged in learning and moving throughout the new campus like we never left. It appears that the freshman students have really found their stride and are navigating the campus really well. We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility during our construction. We ask that you continue to be patient during our construction throughout the remainder of the year.
Today, we observed a moment of silence at 8:46 am since tomorrow marks the 20 year anniversary that America was attacked by terrorists on September 11th, 2001. 2,977 innocent lives were lost during the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and American Airlines Flight 93 that was bound for Washington DC. #UnitedWeStand
Remembering 9/11

2. 9/11 Memorial Website & Resources
Access the Museum’s resources, including interactive timelines, digital exhibitions, oral histories, registries, and the 9/11 primer, to learn more about the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing and 9/11 and its aftermath.
What can you do to “never forget” and commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11?
Remember the Sky
On September 11, 2021, join the 9/11 Memorial & Museum from wherever you are across the country to take part in active remembrance and recognize how we are all connected to one another underneath the same big sky. On 9/11, post a picture of the sky – no matter the weather – and post it to Instagram with #NeverForget911 and @911memorial.
This activation is inspired by the clear blue sky that was present in New York City and across the country on 9/11, as well as by Spencer Finch’s monumental art installation in the 9/11 Memorial Museum. His artwork, “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning,” is comprised of 2,983 watercolors — each a unique shade of blue — a tribute to the enormity of collective loss and the individuality of each of those who were taken from us far too soon.
For younger Americans, 9/11 is no longer an experience lived but history learned ran toward danger to save others. Remember the Sky seeks to engage audiences in meaningful conversation, serving as a bridge between memory of that day and what can be experienced in-person by visiting the Museum. Your participation will help us expose a new generation to the lessons learned during and following 9/11 as together, we fulfill our collective promise never to forget.
3. Local observances

Please feel free to visit the Media Center during lunch periods to activate your PowerSchool (click here for the Parent User Guide) account if you have not done so already. Our November evening will be structured in a format that allows for brief 1:1 time and an opportunity to discuss your student’s progress in a more personalized manner. More information will be sent in the future.
This school year we will communicate academic progress via ParentPortal. Every teacher at BCAHS will be posting grades to the ParentPortal system approximately every two weeks. Once you have registered your ParentPortal account, you will receive an automated email every time your students’ teacher posts an update. Please be sure to check the portal regularly as important information from our Student Services Department is also posted throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you on September 23rd. Please contact us if you have any additional questions.
