Aggie Weekly- Sept 7th

Aggie Weekly

This week week we welcomed in our students and staff to kickoff the 2018-2019 school year! We are excited to start the school year and we will work hard to help students meet their goals this year. Today, Mr. Higgins and Mr. Braga spoke with grades 9-12 to discuss student expectations and safety protocols.

Attention Parents- MIAA: Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) has developed educational materials on opioid misuse prevention and is partnering with schools across the state to share this information with students, parents and school personnel. Because of the risk of injury and the subsequent need for pain management, student athletes may be at risk for opioid misuse. Check out this video with Dr. Ruth Potee, who guides athletes, parents, and coaches on how to treat sports injuries while reducing or eliminating the use of opioid-based pain relievers.

In the Classroom:

Agricultural Mechanics: Ag Mec students were back at work on Thursday working on small engines. Keep up the great work!

Landscape Design & Contracting

Last spring the landscape sophomores (Class of 2020) planted annuals at the Taunton Superior Courthouse. Here what the plantings look like now...wow!

ELA: Seniors in Mr. Mendonsa's class were working on their senior college essay! Good luck! #BAPRIDE

ELA: On Wednesday, Mrs. Noel used the Ukulele to deliver her classroom expectations. A fun spin, on otherwise dry content. Thanks for keeping it fresh in the heat!

Activities and Athletics:

Ocean Bowl: Help sea creatures, participate in international monitoring, and go to the beach!

The Ocean Bowl club invites any students, families, friends, etc. to come to Horseneck Beach on Saturday, September 22 from 10am to 2pm to participate in the International Coastal Cleanup. We will be picking up trash as well as recording the trash that we find, which is added to an international database that aids in research, education, and policy-making. For students, there is a van with space for 7 departing at 9am and returning by 3pm. Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring work gloves if you have them. Aggie students need to complete the Field Trip Form and anyone under 18 participating will need to complete this waiver. For more information, or to sign up, please contact Ms. Perry: eperry@bcahs.com Hope to see you there!

Girls Soccer: On Wednesday, the girls soccer team kicked off the fall season with a 1-1 tie against Avon.

Yearbook: Attention parents/guardians and members of the Class of 2019

Hard copy photos will be mailed to the publishing company to be scanned. Photos will be mailed back to the school, but there is no guarantee that they will be back before graduation. Please DO NOT submit a photo that you want back.
