Aggie Weekly-September 23rd

Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:

This week’s HIGH 5 CLUB Senior of Week-MAGGIE GRAHAM

Social Media Survey: On Friday, we surveyed students about our plan to expand our social media presence to tell the Bristol Aggie story. We received 366 responses and here is what we sent to students:

Greetings Students,

We want to share our story of Bristol Aggie with the world.  It appears that one of the best ways to accomplish this is through social media.  Currently we use Twitter, however, not many students and families use this platform.  We want your feedback on how we can highlight your experience at Bristol Aggie with the world.  If you could take a couple of minutes to share your perspective, that would be greatly appreciated.

Forms response chart. Question title: Which social media platform do you use most?. Number of responses: 366 responses.Tik Tok was the clear winner as the student preferred platform, with Instagram as the second most choice.

Forms response chart. Question title: Which social media platform do you use second most?. Number of responses: 366 responses.

It appears that students use both Instagram and Tik Tok for their social media platforms.

Forms response chart. Question title: Which social media platform do you think Bristol Aggie should use as our primary social media platform?. Number of responses: 366 responses.

Upon the recommendation of the students, it appears that Bristol Aggie should focus its presence using Instagram (rather than Twitter 6%)

Forms response chart. Question title: Would you follow us if we used your platform? (We assure you, that we will not be using this to monitor your social media accounts). Number of responses: 366 responses.

It appears that we will be moving forward with Instagram as our primary social media account.  Please follow us on instagram BristolAggie (Thanks Ms. Sharp for posing with Oakie!)

Parent Open House: It was great to see all the parents in attendance on Thursday night.  It truly takes a village and we appreciate all the support from our families.

PTO: The PTO was able to sell merchandise at the Open House on Thursday

In the Classroom: Sophomore flori students worked on marketing the mums and various plants on the patio for the Parent Teacher Open House plant sale and in the greenhouse in preparation for the Fall Show. Ms. Slaney did a demonstration on a hanging installation for the students.

  • Arbor: In Mr. Cook's sophomore class, students were cutting up firewood to sell as a fundraiser to the public. They measured truck beds (they come in all shapes and sizes) to ensure the most efficient loads and safe transport. #BAPride

Bristol Aggie Sophomore Jenna Harker is looking for volunteers: Jenna became an Ambassador for the program called ENGin. It is a program that pairs Ukrainian youth with volunteers virtually. Their goal is to help a generation of young Ukrainians improve their spoken English and intercultural skills. ENGin accepts volunteers ages 14 and up, and it is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. Students can also get volunteer hours from ENGin. Jenna can answer any questions you may have. She is the point of contact for people interested in the program. Her official email through the program is j.harker@enginprogram.org, but people can also contact her through her school email (jharker25@bcahs.com) about ENGin.

ENGin is a nonprofit organization that pairs Ukrainian youth with English-speakers for free online conversation practice and cross-cultural connection. We work with students age 10-35 and volunteers age 14+.

OUR MISSION

We are helping a generation of young Ukrainians improve their spoken English and intercultural skills, making an impact on both an individual and a national level.

  • On an individual level, we equip students to access academic and professional opportunities.

  • On a national level, we connect Ukraine with the world, spurring economic growth and social progress.

Student Ambassadors: On Wednesday, Admissions Coordinator Mrs. Minster hosted a Student Ambassador breakfast as a token of appreciation for their service to our community.

Student Commons: The cafeteria has some new fresh offerings for our students.  I don’t remember lunch being this tasty when I was in school! We would like to THANK our cafe staff for always looking for ways to create new fresh meals for our students.

Also a big thanks to students and staff who helped create this helpful YouTube  video:
