Aggie Weekly- November 5th

Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:

This week we held a professional development day for teachers and administered our quarterly exams in an effort to gather data and make adjustments to instruction if needed.  We are always looking for ways to improve our practice which leads to a higher rate of student success. On another note, we appreciate everyone’s continued flexibility throughout the building project and willingness to adjust at any time during the day.  We look forward to the completion of the project and resuming normalcy soon.

Don’t forget to turn back your clocks on Sunday!

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 18th and we are using a new software called SignUP for our conferences.  Based on the feedback we received from parents in September, we are resuming the day and night option for parent conferences and both in-person and virtual conferences.  The first session will be Virtual ONLY  from 12:30-3:00 and the second session will be in-person ONLY from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Please have your student schedule with teacher names available so you can book your appointments. All appointments are 8 minutes in duration.  Please do not book appointments back to back since you need to leave time for you to travel from room to room and please ensure that you give yourself enough time to travel from the north campus (CSE and Student Commons) to the south campus (Gilbert Hall, Flori, Ag Mech, etc).  On Monday, November 8th at 6:30 am you will receive an email with the link to access each teacher’s Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Here are a few tips to consider when signing up for parent teacher conferences:

  1. Ensure that you have your child’s schedule with you before you sign up for conferences:

    1. Try to schedule conferences on south campus then north campus if possible

    2. Give yourself time to travel from class to class (north to south campus)

    3. The format is as follows on Thursday, November 18th

      1. 12:30-3:00 pmVirtual ONLY through a Google meet that will be sent after you register for the conference.  The teacher will have to individually send out the Google Meet once you are registered.  If you do not have a GMail account, please use your child’s email when registering so we can send you the link.

      2. 6:00-8:00 pm : In-Person ONLY.  These will be conducted as typical parent conferences where parents/guardians will go to each teacher’s classroom.

      3. Resources

        1. Campus Map

Unfortunately, we are not able to fulfill all requests in two sessions. If at any time you would like to meet with a teacher, counselor, or administrator, please do not hesitate to contact us.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding using SignUP, please do not hesitate to contact me (KBraga@bcahs.com).
