Aggie Weekly
Good Afternoon Students, Parents, and Community Members:
This week felt a lot like the first week of school in the sense that there was a lot of buzz and excitement returning to four days a week. Spring sports resumed so student-athletes had their gear and it was the closet week to normalcy we have had in over a year. We want to caution everyone on break and want to exercise social distancing during break. If you travel outside of MA (and RI), then you will need to produce a negative PCR test in order to return. Please see our Virtual Town Hall (recording) for more information.
Congratulations! Laura Pettey is the 2021 Valedictorian!

Class of 2021 Student and Parent Letter:
Congratulations to the Class of 2021! As we approach our 2021 Graduation Ceremony, the Bristol Aggie Prom, and a modified end of the year, we are sending this important reminder to students and families to ensure that the next couple months remain a safe and pleasurable experience for all. We cannot stress enough the importance of being vigilant and taking every precaution as we embark on this end of the year plan.
First, Senior Final Exams have been cancelled! Students will close out Quarter 4 grades with their remaining assignments. On Friday, May 28th, we will host a senior only Field Day (upon approval from the local Board of Health), with our first graduation rehearsal starting at 1:00 pm. Details on Field Day will be released at a later time. Additional graduation rehearsals will be held on Tuesday, June 1st and Wednesday, June 2nd beginning promptly at 8:30 am. These graduation rehearsals are mandatory. If a student does not attend the rehearsal, then the student cannot walk at graduation.
Graduation is set for Thursday, June 3rd at 6:30 pm. Like last year, we will host graduation outside on the Bristol Aggie Baseball Field. The rain date is scheduled for Friday, June 4th at 6:30 pm. We have been approved by our local Board of Health to host 4 guests per graduate that will be seated together. We are providing all the seating for guests which are properly spaced. Do not bring your own seat. This plan still has been approved by the Dighton Board of Health and therefore, we can not make alternative arrangements. Parking will be limited due to our ongoing construction so we are encouraging that graduates and families use the same vehicle to come to the ceremony. There will be handicap parking along the tree line at Gilbert Hall and the student parking lot has approximately 40 spaces. Additional parking will be at the hayfield. In addition, if anyone requires special services for graduation, please contact me at KBraga@bcahs.com.
Due to COVID restrictions, we will have a senior only Bristol Aggie Prom. We recognize the importance of a prom for our seniors and we want to be able to provide it, however, we also recognize that this type of activity could be a scenario for spreading the virus among our student body. In order to ensure the safety of our seniors and all our students, any student who goes to prom will have to quarantine under the following CDC guidelines:
7 days of strict quarantine-Release on Day 8 IF:
A test (either PCR or antigen) taken on Day 5 or later is negative: AND
The individual has not experienced any symptoms up to that point; AND
The individual conducts active monitoring through Day 14
Your child may return to school on Monday, May 24th if (s)he is symptom free and provides a negative PCR- COVID test on May 19th or later.
10 days of strict quarantine- Release on Day 11 IF:
The individual has not experienced any symptoms up to that point ; AND
The individual conducts active monitoring through Day 14
No test is necessary under this option
Your child may return to school on Tuesday, May 25th if (s)he is symptom free.
14 days of strict quarantine-Release on Day 15 IF:
The individual has experienced ANY symptoms during the quarantine period EVEN if they have a negative COVID-19 test; OR
The individual indicates they are unwilling or unable to conduct active monitoring
Your child may return to school on Tuesday, June 1st if (s)he is symptom free.
No quarantine needed if fully vaccinated:
2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
Outside guests are allowed at prom, however, they will need to produce a negative PCR- COVID test on May 11th or later in order to have entry. The outside guest must take the PCR- COVID test between Monday, May 10th-Wednesday, May 12th in order to be allowed entry into the prom. Any senior who would like to take an outside guest will need to complete this form
As you know we are under construction and we will do our best to polish, clean, and set-up graduation activities to make it a special event. Please know that any acts detracting from the maintenance of the campus, buses, fields, buildings, or any part of the grounds will be considered vandalism and will jeopardize graduation and/or graduation activities for any participants.
Due to COVID restrictions we are not able to conduct all the events for the end of the year, but we are trying to ensure that the senior class has many of the events that are traditionally held for seniors. Enclosed we have provided a modified listing of all senior activities. We look forward to seeing our seniors receive their diplomas on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:30 pm, as well as participating in all the events leading up to this spectacular day. It is our expectation that the Class of 2021 will continue to make us proud as we will finish the year on a positive note. We do not want any carelessness or misplaced revelry to jeopardize any of our students’ graduation experience. We look forward to an exciting week and send our heartiest congratulations to all.
Sincerely,
Kevin P. Braga
Assistant Superintendent/Principal

Bristol Community College - Dual Enrollment Opportunities
There are some offerings for dual enrollment through Bristol Community College throughout this summer. These courses are offered to many local vocational and technical high schools so enrollment is first come, first serve. Students are eligible if they have a 2.5 G.P.A. in high school and if they have previously taken a BCC course must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. through the college. These courses are at no cost to you (unless it states a fee, and books are not covered). The offerings are listed below, spaces will be filling up fast so please reach out if you are interested. Some courses require an Accuplacer placement test before enrollment. In order to enroll, students must have a discussion with Ms. Costa in Student Services to ensure they are prepared for the course and have the appropriate prerequisites. Students may not sign up for the course on their own. Please see below for the offerings. If you are interested you may reach Ms. Costa at kcosta@bcahs.com or see her in room 2218. In addition to these offerings, students may also register for other courses as well at cost to the student and family. You may see the options for Summer 2021 in the BCC catalog here.
Dual Enrollment Application can be found here. Underage Form - those aged 16 or below can be found here.
